Scotland (& beyond!)

(photography for people who hate getting their photo taken)

Fun, creative, sometimes sassy, and honest photography for the awkward turtles, the misfits, the outdoorsy’s and the carefree legends in love!

Hey friends, I’m Susie!

(half mountain goat, half dancin’ disco ball)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

At your service to document all the feels of your day! All of those gorgeous wee moments that make your day unique and special. Those wee glances, the giggles, the hand squeezing, the happy tears, the nerves….and all the FUN!

I’ve been a midwife for the last 20 years, which I adore! It’s such a privilege to support families during such a beautiful (and vulnerable) time in their lives. But I always had a wee creative spark, hidden away inside, which led me to learn photography.

Photographing weddings and elopements is something I have fallen in love with over the last few years. Human connection is so beautiful. Witnessing two people who understand, respect and value each other commit to one another is such an honour. Documenting your day and giving you beautiful images to keep forever is an absolute dream!

Bio..

Wife and mum, extroverted introvert, I laugh A LOT, swear (A LOT), care A LOT, hug tightly, outdoorsy AF, ex raver (I’m too tired these days), love music so so much, love snowboarding and surfing, climbing mountains and going on road trips with my lovely wife, Nonie and wee dog, Jean. I equally love slow and quiet times, sitting by the sea, listening to the waves, drinking green tea and pretending to do yoga.

I love people and real, genuine human connection. I LOVE seeing two people making promises to each other, it’s THE MOST beautiful thing in this crazy old world!

I Hate Having My Photo Taken

I hear these words all the time. Don’t worry, I feel you. There’s nothing more awkward than having a camera pointing at you and being told to say ‘cheese’! This is a cheese-free zone (apart from my cheesy AF patter and disco playlist!).

The majority of the day I’ll be snapping away and all you have to do is enjoy your day, enjoy each other, and pretend I’m not even there. The only time I’ll ask you to look at the camera is when we are doing group shots and portraits but I’ll give you wee prompts and keep you moving and make it fun!

No stiff posing or copying images from Pinterest! Your gallery won’t (and shouldn’t) look like someone else’s. This is your day! For about 70% of the day I’ll be observing, clicking away when I see a moment. Documenting what is happening. During the ceremony I’ll be like a stealth wee ninja, hiding away but capturing all the goodness!

The other 30% I’ll be very much part of it all, organising group shots and confetti tunnels. Giving you subtle guidance to make beautiful portraits with you. Winding kids up. Chatting to Granny. Helping to bustle your dress. I’ll feel like your best pal!

Kind Words

“Susie is one of a kind, what a wonderful human - I couldn’t recommend any more! She’s incredibly talented and captured the most beautiful photos for us. Susie has a magical way of making people feel at ease, and brings an element of fun and laughter whilst remaining efficient and professional. Thank you Susie 💕” - Harriet and Mike

“On our wedding day Susie (and Nonie and jean) went above and beyond to make the whole experience a special one, no request was too big. She put us all at ease and her super friendly, kind and caring nature is just infectious, everyone loved her. Susie has a great sense of fun and took us in her campervan down to the beach for a photoshoot and what fun it was. We were blown away when we first saw our wedding photos, they were so full of love and laughter and captured the day perfectly” - Sean and Suz

“Best photographer ever! Susie slotted in with our chilled day perfectly, made us feel at ease & have fun getting some snaps - we absolutely love every single photo! “ - Sophie and Ruben
